Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on mobile banking enrollment by country 2020

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic considerably accelerated the use of mobile banking among customers worldwide. As of April 2020, almost one-third of the mobile banking customers in China enrolled for the first time because of the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis. South Korea followed, with 21 percent of the respondents who enrolled in online banking because of the pandemic.
